PENGARUH PENGAWASAN, KOMUNIKASI KERJA DAN KOMPETENSI TERHADAP KEPUASAN KERJA KARYAWAN PADA PT PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA IV REGIONAL I MEDAN

Latar belakang: Employee job satisfaction is an important factor influencing organizational productivity and performance. Effective supervision, good work communication, and adequate employee competence are considered essential in improving job satisfaction. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effects of supervision, work communication, and competence on employee job satisfaction at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional I Medan.
Metode penelitian: This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive quantitative research design. The population consisted of 567 permanent employees of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional I Medan. The sample was determined using the Probability Sampling technique through Simple Random Sampling, applying the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 26.
Hasil penelitian: The findings revealed that supervision had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction (t = 4.634 > 1.98969). Work communication also had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction (t = 3.395 > 1.98969). Likewise, competence had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction (t = 7.151 > 1.98969). Simultaneously, supervision, work communication, and competence significantly influenced employee job satisfaction (F = 63.035 > 2.72). The coefficient of determination (R²) was 68.9%, indicating that 68.9% of the variation in employee job satisfaction was explained by the three independent variables, while the remaining 31.1% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
Kesimpulan: Supervision, work communication, and competence have positive and significant effects on employee job satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously, at PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional I Medan. Among the independent variables, competence demonstrated the strongest influence on employee job satisfaction.
