Patient anxiety before a Computed Tomography (CT) scan is an issue that can affect a patient's comfort, psychological readiness, and the quality of diagnostic results. A lack of understanding regarding the examination procedure, the use of radiation, and potential diagnostic outcomes is a factor that can heighten patient anxiety. Consequently, effective educational interventions are necessary to help patients approach the examination more calmly and confidently. This study uses a literature review methodology based on the CRS (Concept, Research, Synthesis) model. This approach examines core concepts, reviews previous research findings, and synthesizes relevant scientific evidence on the role of radiology education in reducing patient anxiety before a CT scan. The findings indicate that radiology education plays a positive role in alleviating patient anxiety before a CT scan. Clear, systematic, easy-to-understand information—covering the stages of the examination, its benefits and risks, and necessary preparations—can improve a patient's knowledge, preparedness, and sense of security. Education delivered through interpersonal communication or educational media can also improve patient cooperation during the examination process. Radiology education is a vital component of patient-centered radiology services. Structured, ongoing education can reduce anxiety, increase comfort, and support smooth CT scans. Therefore, healthcare professionals should optimize educational strategies that are communicative, informative, and tailored to each patient's specific characteristics, ultimately improving the overall quality of diagnostic services.
