Peran Mediasi Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy dalam Hubungan antara Entrepreneurial Traits dan Nascent Entrepreneurial Behavior pada Mahasiswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi keterkaitan antara entrepreneurial traits dan nascent entrepreneurial behavior dengan mempertimbangkan peran entrepreneurial self-efficacy sebagai variabel mediasi pada mahasiswa di Kota Bandung. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain explanatory research. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring terhadap 200 responden yang dipilih secara purposive, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM).

Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa entrepreneurial traits berpengaruh signifikan terhadap entrepreneurial self-efficacy (? = 0.818; p < 0.001) serta nascent entrepreneurial behavior (? = 0.245; p < 0.05). Selain itu, entrepreneurial self-efficacy juga terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nascent entrepreneurial behavior (? = 0.540; p < 0.001). Hasil pengujian mediasi mengindikasikan bahwa entrepreneurial self-efficacy berperan sebagai mediator parsial (? = 0.442; p < 0.001) dalam hubungan tersebut.

Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh karakteristik individu terhadap perilaku kewirausahaan lebih kuat terjadi melalui mekanisme kognitif dibandingkan secara langsung. Secara teoretis, hasil penelitian ini memperkuat Social Cognitive Theory, khususnya dalam menempatkan self-efficacy sebagai penghubung antara faktor disposisional dan perilaku kewirausahaan tahap awal. Secara praktis, pengembangan kewirausahaan pada mahasiswa perlu diarahkan tidak hanya pada pembentukan karakter, tetapi juga pada penguatan keyakinan diri sebagai pendorong utama tindakan kewirausahaan.kewirausahaan.
